I love what I do in the world of procurement because every adversity [and there are many in the business of procurement!] brings with it the seed of an equivalent opportunity and therein lies possible competitive business advantage as well as wonderful growth and development experiences for me and those with whom I am collaborating at the time.
Being a qualified chemical engineer I naturally have an ordered, logical and systematic approach to problem solving and business. That said, I am ever mindful that everything in business happens with and through people, hence my above use of the word “collaborating” because collaboration in the truest sense of the word fosters a culture where everyone is allowed to be an individual and to bring their best game to the fore in their own unique way.
Membership of professional bodies: South African Auditor & Training Association (SAATCA); Senior QMS Auditor (482); SAEF: Business Excellence Assessor (ATC0152); SAATCA: Provisional Certified Process Assessor (1006) and Institute of Purchasing South Africa (IPSA MTN010).

Etienne Hansby
I started my career in the chemical industry at SASOL Fertilizers and Johnson Matthey 3 and 4 years respectively after completing a BSc from the University of the Western Cape (UWC). The past 17years has been spent in the Inflight Catering Industry at the biggest Inflight Caterer in South Africa by meal volume. I also completed a MBL from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
My areas of focus are process improvements and operational efficiencies. I have been able to achieve reduction in resources whilst increasing output by employing better processes. My current focus is on achieving better efficiencies, operational control and quality control by employing robotics and artificial intelligence in business operations.
